"I like to ride my bicycle"

The weather this weekend was spectacular. I'm pretty sure it hit 90. On Saturday I had some quality pool time...water bottle, wheat thins, magazine...I was set. A small child did poop in the pool right as I got there, so I didn't get to even dip my toes in. But, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Tonight after dinner I took a bike ride around the neighborhood. It was glorious. This picture was taken in Ravenna, Italy. About a year ago I went to Europe and one of my favorite things about some of the cities we visited was the use of bicycles. In Ravenna EVERYONE was on a bike. From mothers with children in tow to the elderly, they were all on bikes. I couldn't help but be overjoyed tonight while I cruised around. The night was warm and the sunset was stunning. I saw a mom watering her grass, an Asian man lacing up his shoes before heading out on a walk, and a Persian man proudly taking pictures of his water fountain and flowers. Made me smile.

Gotta say...I'm pretty excited for Summer. Southern California is treating me too well.

JEALOUS. I want a bike.

Ravenna was amazing. You are amazing. lets go back to Europe someday together. Plan? Sweet.

And I'm pretty jealous of your 90 degree weather.

I must concur: there is something inevitably charming about riding a good old school bike around town- especially in whimiscal cities.... Good post.
