This is the backpack I've been looking for. Mom---Can we figure out how to make a backpack when I'm home again?

I'm going to figure out how to do this. So, Grandma---I'll see you this week for a lesson.

I'm making this right now.

Pikes

Does that car bug me? Yes.

Lunch at Lowell's. Ya know...Sleepless in Seattle...when Tom Hanks and that guy eat lunch at that counter. That one.

The "it" girl.

New Favorite Jam. Drool. And with plain yogurt. I'll never go back to pre-mixed fruit yogurt again. (okay, a little dramatic)

Honey, Honey. Flavors you haven't even heard of yet. Hazelnut Honey, Lime Honey, Lemon Honey...mind blowing honey.
It's a must-see in Seattle.
I go every time I visit home.
Thanks Mom for taking me!

On the menu:

Sweet Potato and Black Beans Burrito
(excellent and apparently factors out to $1.29 a burrito)

Glazed Butternut Squash

Apple Pie

Little Mini Pies the ladies made to take home

Others that were on the menu (but not necessarily made):

Indian Inspired Butternut Squash

Brown Basmati Rice with Butternut Squash

Apricot Chicken

Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet Potato Biscuits

Apple Custard Tart

Apple Bundt Cake

Apple Crisp for Two

email me if you're interested in any of these recipes.

After Egan's drool worthy post about Pointer shoes my mom and I went on a mission to find them. My mom was crushing on these. And I, these. Our first stop brought us to Lambs Ear
shoe
boutique in Fremont. They didn't have Pointer's, but they did have $300+ shoes that were so glorious I think my heart stopped once or twice. We then went downtown and hit Totokaelo. Sweet mercy people, i die. A.P.C., Rachel Comey, Y's by Yohji Yamamoto, Slow and Steady Wins The Race. I wanted to just pet, stroke, obsess over every piece. Some boutiques that I go in are frankly gross: over priced for lame clothes that only the House Wives of Orange County would fall for. But this, this is utter beauty and perfectly executed. I wish you could have seen it. Egan and Kristine- we'll have to take you to see this place over Thanksgiving. Really though, how in my life can I have enough self-control to save my pennies for pieces like this, or these, or this?

float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

My Mom and I took a roadie to Portland yesterday. We took a tour about the Nike Campus where my cousin works.
SO COOL!
My favorite part was the Idea Lab. An incredible library and place for creative inspiration. Whiteboard tables with bins of post-its. A 360 of inspiring books, trophies, shoe-boxes, modern furniture, little figurines.
Nike has an amazing history and still more in the making. I loved seeing the people that work there---such style! It was the ultra-cool for sure. Lots of Nike kicks. I even saw the guy that designed the Air Force 1. Epic.
This picture is of a track (duh) that is part of the Nike Campus. It was gorgeous with all the leaves. I was about to run a few laps myself.
We headed to the Nike employee store. UH OH---it was a score.
Thanks to my girl, Kimberly for recommending Mother's Bistro in downtown Portland.

We walked around downtown Portland. I LOVE this city. Like, I can't wait to go back.
Oops. A little windy.
