egg dying

Easter was at home with my parents this year. We dyed eggs together, they hid a basket for me, and bunny rolls for Easter dinner. Being an adult ain't so bad. Thanks to my parents for still indulging me.

Sunday Hike

After dinner on Sunday Egan and I took a little hike up by her house. It's warming up in Utah, but it was still pretty cold in the canyon. I love Utah, you can take a hike/walk in the mountains so easy cause they are your backyard.

^^I made this little 100th day of school sign in 2 seconds flat. They hardly noticed it because it was so high up. I knew I didn't want it lower cause I would have gone crazy if I had to walk through it 50x during the day.

^^I wanted to get my kids a 100th day of school treat, but Walmart didn't have 100 Grand candy bars like I wanted. I was on the phone with my sister, Jen, and she gave me the idea to do the worm and the two life savers. The bonus being that I already had those candies at school. No money spent.

^^Sometimes I get a stroke of genius at school and this was one of them. They had colored a pattern on this graph paper clover and cut it out and I wasn't quite sure what to do with them. Then I decided to let them tape it anywhere in the room they wanted. They LOVED it. It was a good reminder that I need to let them control something occasionally.

^^We are learning about adjectives and I got the cloud and rainbow idea from pinterest.

^^We did a writing activity where they wrote a story about how a leprechaun finds a pot of gold. Writing is hard.

^^I wore glasses for 2 days and the kids TRIPPED. They walked into school and looking at me all quizzically "you look weird"..."is it glasses day or something?"..."why are you wearing glasses?"
The next day a sweet girl wrote this on the back of her spelling test. my!

Our friend organized a Saturday night skate sesh at the rink in Sandy. It was more fun then we all expected and I could not believe the talent. It was adult night so 18 and over till midnight. I wish I was a good roller skater so so bad.

^^ this dude. we met him and you wouldn't believe the things he was saying. let me just say that he came by with HANDCUFFS later in the night asking if I would get handcuffed with him and skate together. I said "I would never." And next thing I know Maggie is handcuffed with this guy making laps around the rink. Almost lost it.

Annie and Malcolm wedding weekend

Friday morning: took the day off to spend with Teen
We ate at the new Eva's Bakery which is amazing and a sweet new spot in SLC. We also shopped at City Creek with Egan and got treats and our nails done with Mags.

It was the perfect weekend. The most amazing wedding reception at the old anthropologie at Gateway. Dancing, food, friends, lots of space, and great lighting. So happy for Annie and Malcolm!
