Busy Busy day!

Yesterday was CRAZY!!! My calling as Ward Activities Co-chair has taken up lots of my time during the week. We have had an activity every week, so it has been a challenge. I have such a great ward and everyone wants to have a good time. Last night we had a Halloween "State Fair" themed activity. We crocked potted loads of chili and baked many a batch of corn bread. The pie eating contest was the best.

My friend John also came into town. It is always great to see old friends! We hit up Applebee's with a crew of people.

BUCK BUCK

Last night we were celebrating our friend Gary's 24th year of life with some icecream and cookies. Before we knew it our living room turned into a circus. Quite literally. We started really getting into all these acrobatic tricks and trying new things. It was really quite hilarious. We also played this game that Kristine taught where the boys get together and make a flat base using their backs then we ran one by one and jumped ontop of the base. You yell "Buck buck 1...buck buck 2" etc. I love college.

Aesthetic Appeal

So my friend busted out this new number (no pun intended) the other day. 5 Gum. It is so sleek!!! I was automatically intrigued and had to get my hands on some. The best part is it tastes great and lasts forever. I LOVE me some gum so this black casing is just the trick to pull out of that back pocket. Check it out!!

Ruff & Ready...HOt & Sweaty

That is right Ladies and Gentleman I am on a flag football team...well...not so much anymore. We lost. But does that reeeally matter? Intramurals...come on. Our team consists of my apartment and next door neighbors. I've played on teams for the past few years up here and we have a blast. We have fans...but they laugh AT us, well I guess WITH us because we laugh more than we play. The season is over, but we'll be back.

I love my....

New D.I. shoes. I went to Idaho falls to browse the Deseret Industries there. What a catch. For just 3 buck-a-roos I have a brand new pair of kicks that I'm quite fond of.

New Obsession

I tend to get on these "kicks"...for instance last winter I spent too much time surfing wikipedia. Every chance I got I read up on any band, book, actor, movie, or thing that I could think of on wikipedia. That phased out and of late my new obsession is NPR All Songs Considered. I signed up a year ago to get emails from them and most the time ignore them, but lately I can't get enough. I go to NPR anytime I'm working on my laptop and find a new band to listen to. They have all their NPR concerts recorded and give the best reviews to new, exciting bands. I've been listening to Rilo Kiley the most. They also cover Iron & Wine, Ben Gibbard, Modest Mouse, Interpol, Bright Eyes, etc. etc. etc. I love being able to listen to full tracks when I'm checking out new music instead of the 30 seconds on itunes. Music to my ears.

Good Flick

I went to SLC this weekend with Kristine and roomies Kimberly and Sarah. On Friday night a group of us went and saw Across the Universe at Gateway. Oh wow....this movie is GLORIOUS. When I first saw the previews this summer I was intrigued by the idea of the flick...but not knowing if it would turn out to just be a lame creation of Beatle covers. After some good reviews from friends I saw it and I HAVE to go see it again. Last night I found out it came to the theaters in Idaho Falls so I plan on going this week or weekend. The soundtrack is off the HEEzy too. Can't get enough.

Happy Birthday T-Bone!

My nephew Tanner is SIX YEARS OLD today!

1. He has the best blonde, curly hair

2. I love it when he says "Yep" or "Kung Pow"

3. He is the bravest kid I know...we went on Tower of Terror and the kid didn't even flinch

4. His soft, brown skin is a dream

5. Gives real good "air" hugs and real hugs

6. A good brother to his 3 siblings.

"New York I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down"

This summer my dream of all dreams came true and I got to go to New York City with my mom and sisters. We spent a good, solid week sight seeing all over Manhattan and I couldn't get enough. Thanks to my mom, and sisters Egan and Annie we had a great itinerary. I couldn't possibly write about everything we did, but lately I've been thinking about some of my favorites. My girlfriend Maggie left this morning for New York, she is going with the school to interview with some businesses. I had so much to tell her about New York, because she is only there for a short time I said she should go to:

SOHO...I adored every inch of that shopping district, every store, every person, every thing is Now. Style and Design is the name of the game.

Pinkberry and Rice to Riches... both in SOHO and both a delicious treat. I could eat Pinkberry everyday and Rice to Riches, well, there is nothing like it. Rice pudding? Rad.

Serendipity...sure it's mainly got a name for itself cause of Oprah, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try. I liked the food and the atmosphere. You're probably asking yourself if we tryed the frozen hot chocolate....we sure did. And boy was it worth it.
Dylan's Candy Shop...Ralph Laurens daughter is the genius behind this place and it's right down the street from Serendipity. The candy may be overpriced, but just walking around makes you feel like a kid in a candy shop...well....an adult in a candy shop!!!
Broadway...I saw Les Miserable and Wicked. They are AMAZING! I had seen Mary Poppins in London when I went in May, so I was thrilled to get to see two more fabulous musicals. I can't stop singing Wicked songs and Les Mis is a MUST.
Gotta have a Bagel in New York...I don't care where, but you just have to. It's a part of the experience. It's like going to Seattle and not having some type of sea food.

Thanks New York...I'll be seeing you again soon and THANKS DAD!

"You Know That I'm a God Fearin Man"

On September 26th I headed down to SLC with girlfriends Sarah and Maggie to see LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire. The show was at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT and it was a great night for an outside venue. Due to getting on the road late from Rexburg and some traffic we only caught the last 2 1/2 songs of LCD Soundsystem, but they were phenomenal. As for Arcade Fire...WOW...what a show. It is such an art to watch them. Very unique stuff. I've been listening to Neon Bible non stop since.

This should be interesting...

I've been intrigued by the blog idea for some time now and finally went for it. So...HERE I AM!!!! I'm in Rexburg, Idaho attending my final two semesters at BYU-Idaho before I head off with a degree in Elementary Eduaction. Boy oh boy, the years have flown by and each semester has been a BLAST. I'm also ready to graduate, yet, not knowing what my future holds. No clue where I'll be or what I'll be doing. Raise your glass *cheers* to an unpredictible future! DRINK up.
