My friend Monti (photographer, mustacher, surfer, partier extraordinaire) took these shots of the Handsome Furs at a show we went to a year ago in San Diego. It was at the Casbah. Great venue.
I didn't know the Handsome Furs when I saw them a year ago, but they are unforgettable. The Canadian husband-wife duo have contagious energy and I was intrigued. Their latest album 'Face Control' has me continually excited. 'I'm Confused' is a thrilling song, it has me singing along to the unmatched and unique voice of Dan Boeckner. I should really stop.
My next favorite off the album is 'All We Want, Baby, Is Everything.' I just can't get over his shakey voice and hot synthesizer wife.
