Halloween Feast

My sister invited us over to their Halloween Mystery Dinner. It has become a tradition with my sisters to have this dinner with their kids each Halloween. I love the idea and I was so excited to be a part of it this year. My sister had a menu with spooky names and we all took a turn ordering. The favorites were Scarecrow Breath, Bat Blood, and Witch Claws. Thanks Annie. You are the best.

My sister said I had to try this recipe and once glancing at the picture I knew it was my kind of cookie. But get this....No Flour!!! No Eggs!!!! No Sugar!!!! I KNOW!!! They were so so yummy. My sister suggested freezing them and they are a perfect treat for anytime of the day. {err...like running out the door in the morning!}

Roady

Teen and I went on a Roady to Boise, Idaho to visit gal pal Livi. We had a blast and it was perfect PERFECT fall weather for our long weekend. Livi was quite the host to show us around Boise. Such a neat city. We did LOTS of thrifting (to post about later!!!), saw Secret Life of Bees (if you haven't read the book, you MUST...it's a good one), ate lots of yummy food, hit up a Bead store (I'm so excited to start creating), went to a sweet candy store in downtown Boise, relaxed at her cute house, visited with her wonderful family, and went to dinner with some besties. Now we're back and I am thrilled at this perfect sunny Sunday.

Date with Gma

Look who learned to knit...yez zir...that's me. I'm just learning how to knit the awesomest dish towels ever.

Tonight I went out to Bountiful, Utah with my seesters to visit our Grandma. It was such a good time. We went to dinner down the street at Costa Vida then went back to her house to visit. I loved every minute of it. She is a treasure. I've never lived near her, but I've been lucky to see her a couple times each year with our regular Utah trips growing up. Some things I love about my Grandma...

1. She loves and adores her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren

2. She takes great care of her house and garden

3. Is as active as ever; temple work, golf, and swimming

4. Quilts, Knits, Crochets

5. Has a great laugh and sense of humor

6. Spiritual and sensitive to important things

7. Raised a perfect boy to be my Dad!

8. Married the sweetest man to be my Grandpa!

9. Her soft olive skin

10. Great at card games

A trip to Iceland

This weekend I, along with my besties, saw Sigur Ros at the Saltair in Salt Lake City. If your ears have not heard the sweet-gloriousness of Sigur Ros then don't deny them a minute longer. This band from Iceland makes music that will take you straight to heaven. I have been looking forward to this show since June and it was spectacular. When Sigur Ros started playing and I looked at my friends faces all I saw was a sea of smiles. It was pure happiness in the venue and the band was sweet and gracious. I guess I really can't describe how wonderful it was...here's some shots of the night.

ahem...and anthropologie's latest catalog was all in Iceland. it's so pretty it hurts
