Dodgers!

Ok so this may have been a month ago...but what are you gonna do about it??

Whilst in California I met this gentlemen...lets call him Sweet Pease....and lets also pretend that his profession is ticket scalping...and maybe he got us free entrance to Dodgers Opening Day! What would you think of that? Jealous? Thought so. It was a grand day. I took a half day of work...headed to LA with Sarah and Mary and spent a beautiful sunny day at the Park. I ate a Dodger dog too...how glorious.

Lars and the Real Girl

Check out Lars and the Real Girl! It is an adorable film about a a young man triumphing over some personal issues by using a "Real Doll" as his girlfriend. With the help of a doctor, his concerned Brother and Sister-in-law as well as the caring community play along with Lars and his serious relationship with Bianca, a "real doll". Ryan Gosling plays Lars and is fabulous. The sweet relationship he has with Bianca is very endearing. There is Margo, played by Kelli Garner, who is a coworker of Lars and you'll just have to watch it to see what happens. Tear ducts be warned...you may get a little misty eyed.

Thank You MAN MAN!

Wikipedia describes them as Viking Vaudeville, Maniac Gypsy Jazz...and frankly, I couldn't describe them in better words. On Monday (ahem...the first day of school) I took a little roady with some friends to SLC, UT to see Yeasayer and Man Man. As a new Yeasayer fan, I was ecastatic to be able to see them after spending many hours at work listening to their South by Southwest show. We arrived from the 3 hour journey to find out that Yeasayer had cancelled. BUMMER. But I wouldn't let a little band mishap let me down...I let Man Man amuse me. So here I would like to say, Thank you Man Man for:
-making me forget I was suffering from starvation
-an hour an a half set list and no stops
-a deliciously good looking drummer
-playing instruments I've never even seen before
-wearing white levi cut off shorts
-yo cawazzzziness
love jane

"I like to ride my bicycle"

The weather this weekend was spectacular. I'm pretty sure it hit 90. On Saturday I had some quality pool time...water bottle, wheat thins, magazine...I was set. A small child did poop in the pool right as I got there, so I didn't get to even dip my toes in. But, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Tonight after dinner I took a bike ride around the neighborhood. It was glorious. This picture was taken in Ravenna, Italy. About a year ago I went to Europe and one of my favorite things about some of the cities we visited was the use of bicycles. In Ravenna EVERYONE was on a bike. From mothers with children in tow to the elderly, they were all on bikes. I couldn't help but be overjoyed tonight while I cruised around. The night was warm and the sunset was stunning. I saw a mom watering her grass, an Asian man lacing up his shoes before heading out on a walk, and a Persian man proudly taking pictures of his water fountain and flowers. Made me smile.

Gotta say...I'm pretty excited for Summer. Southern California is treating me too well.

"Ja-ane started the fire"

If you've seen The Office episode where Ryan started a fire then you know what I'm referring to. I still can't believe it. After burnt popcorn episode earlier in the week I thought that was the worst it could be. But late friday afternoon (last day of work mind you) I decided to treat myself right and attempt another 100 cal popcorn. Popped it in the microwave and gently pressed 1.oo. No shorter than 15 seconds latter I hearing radiation type cracking noises and turned to see the microwave beaming bright orange. I burst over and opened the door and screamed. I didn't even look inside I ran out of the kitchen into some co-workers. They laughed as they saw smoke billowing out of the kitchen. One brave co-worker grabbed the bag out of the microwave and stomped the fire out on the kitchen floor. We had quite a laugh. But I shook my head as I walked back to my desk. WHY?

Reminds me of Home

Ya, it's pretty pathetic....I get this excited for food.

So I was all by my lonesome on Monday night and decided to treat myself right. Nothing like a fine meal of Teriyaki to remind me of home.

(Shout out to Ichiban Teriyaki located in Kenmore, Washington. I miss you)

Easter

I know this is a few weeks late, but Easter should have been in April anyways! This is my nephew T dogg and I after church. What a studly piece of blonde pie.
And this is my BFF, Sayloroosque, as I like to call her. She is a gem. Gives me hugs and whispers in my ear.
Pretty table. Not many places you can eat outside in March. Thank you California.
There she is. My sister. A class act indeed. Pulled the whole Easter gig together. Oh! And that cute girl on her hip. That's B-unit. Thank goodness she lets me kiss her so much cause I would go caaarazzzy.

I dig...

Pegged Jeans and Oxfords. Don't know what else to say, except I totally dig it. I love some crisp jeans and worn in oxfords. Not sure if I've mastered how to wear it myself. The latest j.crew catalog tugged at the ol' fashion heart strings with their girl/guy preppy thing going on with rolled up pants and chucks or oxfords. I loved it.

Dear Sartorialist, Thank you for letting me post your pictures. You are the best. Seriously, thank you for your images. They inspire me.
Sincerely, Jane

Yep...I was THAT girl

Today at work I was starving so I decided to pop me a bag of popcorn. As I was listening intently for the pops to dwindle I thought "how awful would it be if my popcorn burns...no...it can't burn...not possible...i'm standing right here by the microwave." Well...you guessed it, I opened the microwave door and opened the bag to see black popcorn. I shook my head and instantly threw it in the trash. The rest of the day I had coworkers walk by saying "uggghhh that smell", "ohhh who burnt the popcorn", "ahhchk that smell is awful" I laughed to myself to as I realized today I was THAT girl in the office. I was hoping no one would know it was me, so I vigorously lathered up my hands with my smelliest lotion. Not sure if it worked cause I'm pretty sure I lead a trail of burnt popcorn straight to my office. My hair still smells like it.
