Ashley got HITCHED!!!!!

Kristine and I went to Ashley and Scott's wedding reception last night in Carlsbad, CA. We met Ashley our very first semester at BYU-Idaho in the dorms. We moved in together and were roommates for the next 3 years. Now she is graduated and in love!
The reception was beautiful. She looked incredible and so happy. The stake center was transformed with beautiful lights draping overhead. I loved that she had Coldstone, it was yum yum.

We were glad to see Christina and Josh as well. Congratulations Ashley!!!!!

Music Monday 5

This week I'd like to feature an electronica/indie/rock band called Shiny Toy Guns. I recently purchased their first album "We Are Pilots" from itunes and I love it. Last week Kristine and I went to Saltair in Salt Lake City, UT to see them play along with our Rexburg favs Love You Long Time. Our legs were tired of standing by the time Shiny Toy Guns got on stage but they have great presence and a sound to match. Take a listen to "Don't Cry Out" and "You are the One". Dance your heart out.

Must see

I'm in St. George, Utah with my entire family right now and enjoying every moment. Yesterday a few of us went to the theaters. The kids all saw Alvin and the Chipmunks (they say it was funny) Kristine and I saw Enchanted. Since after Thanksgiving weekend I have received raving reviews about the flick. I still was hesitant though. Not sure if it was "my" type of movie. We laughed the whole way through and really enjoyed ourselves. Amy Adams does an excellent job and I adore her princess characteristics. James Marsden (Edward in Enchanted and Corny Collins in Hairspray) and Amy Adams did their own singing in the movie. If you haven't seen you MUST.

Music Monday 4

Thank you Sam Beam for the glorious sounds of Iron & Wine. This week I'd like to feature Carousel on the latest album The Shepard's Dog. The beautiful sounds feature acoustic guitar, banjo and slide guitars. I was first introduced to Iron & Wine when it covered Postal Service's Such Great Heights. When I listen to Carousel I feel like I'm floating down a slow river on a sunny afternoon. Enjoy the trip.

San Francisco

I've been thinking for awhile now about what my next trip should be. I had quite the summer of adventures traveling to 6 different countries in Europe and visiting New York with my sisters. In 2008 I would LOVE to take a little trip down to San Francisco!!! If you've been to San Francisco I want to know all the must-go stops and best parts of the city. The vintage stores lining Haight Ashbury I hear are fantastic. I also would love to see the Stanford campus up in Palo Alto. Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Our third annual Christmas Bash was a hit...again.

The girls from apartments 309 and 310 aka 319 really pulled this party off. We had a kick getting our treasured outfits from D.I. and making delectable treats. The lights and sounds were Top Notch.

We never stop dancing.

The cops did come. Seriously. Disturbing the Peace.....pssssshya

Ain't no party like a Rexburg party cause a Rexburg party don't STOP!

Music Monday 3

This week I'd like to feature Stars, their album 'Hearts' is well worth the pocket change at itunes. The second track "Elevator Love Letter" is what I'm listening to right now and I love the song that follows: "Heart". Vocalists Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan have this absolutely beautiful blend. If you like what you hear check out "Ageless Beauty" from the album 'Set yourself on fire'.

Happy Listening!

Rexburg goes to JACKSON

We decided to take a little trip to Jackson, Wyoming on Saturday! At 4pm we hopped into 3 cars and took a beautiful drive through Tetonia, Driggs, Victor, up the pass to Jackson. I was amazed at the beauty around me. Tall mountains dusted with snow. Fields on both sides of the road that go for miles. Small towns with simple people. I enjoyed the (almost) 2 hour drive except for a little scare on the pass. Luckily I had mighty-fine passengers who encouraged me through the icy turns. A little down shifte and 4 wheel drive did the trick.

We at at BUBBA's for a little country BBQ. We all enjoyed our LARGE plates of meat.

It was a cold night, but after dinner we walked around Jackson and I think we all wished we had come a few hours earlier to enjoy the town when the stores were actually open.

Before heading back we grabbed some Starbucks to warm our numb feet and hands. The drive back was eeeeezy breeeezy.
