Grapefruit and I
Grapefruit and I had a good morning together. We woke up to Sunny skies. We are inching towards Spring and I felt giddyness from my head to my toes.
I am repeatedly playing The Streets today.
I especially love "Everything is Borrowed" and "The Escapist"
This lovely gal is coming to town tomorrow.
Being unemployed has it's perks. I don't have to take the day off to be with my Mom!
I'm knitting it up like a mad woman.
Just dishclothes. They are rather fantastic for all things kitchen related. Don't you just love that Blythe doll?

Last Night...
I went to the Banff Film Festival. It was great. My ears beheld the beautiful voice of Stephanie Sid in a winning film from the film festival, "The Red Helmet."
Her song Cold, Cold is worth a listen.

Neil Young: Heart of Gold
Last night I went to watch a showing of Neil Young:Heart of Gold Documentary in Salt Lake. I hesitate to call it a documentary though, it truly is a concert film. It's a 2006 Sundance concert film that features Neil Young with all his friends playing a show back in Nashville featuring the songs off the Prairie Wind album.
I really liked seeing ol' Neil Young doing his thing. He has the most unique voice and an amazing group of musicians behind him.
If you are a Neil Young fan you should rent this one.
Neil Young "Heart of Gold"
Favorites: "One of These Days" and "Falling off The Face of Earth"

Gavin Gets Crafty
My nephew and I had a play date yesterday. He came over right about lunch time. I made him toast with a side of pirates booty and while he munched he asked me questions about my etsy shop (keep in mind this guy is 5), all of our crafts, what kind of yarn I like, how people buy our stuff, and on.
I could tell he had wanted to get crafty so we broke out the paints.
Then I bought him peach rings and we want to the dollar theater for Tales of Despereaux!
It was the best.

All My Loving
For Valentine's Day my brother and brother in laws let me make their wives some jewelry. I had a lot of fun with it and it sparked the creative juices to get some more jewelry up on our etsy shop. I love my family. I LOVE them.

BFF Weekend!
This weekend my girls came into town. It was the best. We saw the terrible movie on Friday and had fun adventures on Saturday.
We obviously had to take the girls to Five Guys! And we enjoyed seeing our Rexburg favorite Parker in Provo. Check out his youtube!
Our weekend wouldn't be complete with out some rockband! Doi!
Sarah's Birthday!
Kristine made these yummy heart-shaped cakes with Billy's frosting!

Fig
Last night I made dinner for my roommates and I. I buckled down and decided to give Fig Pizza a try. To start I looked on allrecipies and found this recipie for Fig and Goat Cheese Pizza. Then I looked on my mom's cooking blog and found her yummy homemade pizza recipies. I went to the store and ended up with the following ingredients:
2 rolls of Pillsbury pizza dough
1 red onion
1 zuchinni
1 packet Prosciutto
1 packet of shredded mozzerella
2 apricots
10 figs
I was able to make two large pizzas that were fresh, very tasty, and get my creative/experiemental juices out.
The Fig Pizza:
+Sauteed the onion with thyme and salt
+olive oiled the pizza
+put cheese all over
+scattered onions about
+topped with sliced fig
+drizzled with honey
The Apricot Prosciutto Pizza
+olive oiled the pizza
+put cheese all over
+scattered zuchini, prosciutto, and apricot
That's all! Easy Peezy.

Music Monday 17
Beirut. I LOVE Beirut. Lead singer and main-man Zach Condon is a young 22 years of age. Wikipedia can't even describe their music mentioning them as Indie Folk, Pop, World Music, Folk. So, that means you'll have to listen for yourself. Trust me.
Their new album "March of the Zapotec & Realpeople" just came out and of course it's amazing. Still Zach Condon's voice is unusual and glorious, but this time he is backed by a 19 piece band from Mexico. Rad.
On Friday he was on David Lettermen singing "A Sunday Smile" from their 2007 album "A Flying Club Cup/"
and {Prepare to SMILE} one of my favorite Beirut songs on a Take Away Show:

Giddy Like A School Girl
I got myself a library card this week and I've been twiddling my fingers every since at the all the possibilites that are in store. I kinda went a little crazy yesterday online putting in requests for some documentaries, books, and books on tape that I've been wanting to get.
Today I started listening to "Lost Boys" by Orson Scott Card. My parents have been on an Orson Scott Card kick lately and after such ravings I had to give it a try.
I also picked up "Surfwise" today and can't wait to watch it.
In the que is a documentary called "Unknown White Male" and the book on tape of "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" I started reading it last month but after the holidays I am ready to pick it back up. My mom is telling me the audio version is top knotch!

Dallas Clayton, Will You...
...Be My Valentine?
Circle one:
Yes Maybe No
Seriously.
Not even kidding.
Oh and if Dallas Clayton refuses to be my Valentine, then can another Valentine buy me his book?
Cause it's ridiculously awesome.

3 Girls/5 Guys
{Party Tricks}
We couldn't resist. We had to go back to Five Guys. This time with Maggie. Oh it was good. I topped my little burger with BBQ sauce, grilled onions, green peppers, lettuce, and tomatoes.
We match. Kinda weird. Kinda cool. Wish it was planned.

U.R.A.Q.T.
I love Valentines Day. I can't resist that red and pink isle in the grocery store full of holiday candy. I love the candied hearts. The decorations are endlessly cute. And I can't resist myself a homemade sugar cookie. Well on Friday night we went to the grocery store, perused around the VDay isle and found ourselves these cuties. Couldn't walk past without a picture.
February is gonna be good.
