Paul Newman

This guy...
yep. Paul Newman.
I meant to post something earlier, but didn't get a chance till today.

He is one of the best looking men in the history of film. Those eyes. That hair. Teeth and Nose. Perfection. I enjoyed listening to NPR's tribute on Friday and being reminded of his works and involvement with charities through Newmans Own.
Men just don't look this anymore.

E had a Birthday and WE had a Party

E's Birthday was a week ago and we celebrated last weekend, it was a Blast. We had a Quesadilla bar...oh yum, a bowl of candy (Thanks MOM), and cupcakes that came and went too fast.

Battle in Seattle

Coming home from school today I was listening to Democracy Now and they were dicussing the film "Battle in Seattle" which comes out tomorrow (Sept. 19th). It caught my attention because the WTO protests were something I'll never forget. I was in 9th grade I believe and was outside of the downtown area but was glued to the papers and the news for those days that the protests went on. It is such an interesting lesson about human nature. It is natural for humans to gather together in a cause and "fight" for what you believe in. I'm all about organizing together to make this world a better place...but this particular event was supposed to be peaceful. No violence was a goal of both protesters and the police department. What is also natuarl for humans is to take advantage of situations and for things to get out of control. An organized, peaceful protest turned into a riot, a full on riot. One where people who weren't even protesting took advantage of the hectic/chaotic moment to rob downtown stores, break windows, hurt people and so on. Eventually this was not just a downtown Seattle concern, but an emergency that the National Guard had to step in and address. The pictures and scenes of the WTO riots will be forever etched in my mind.

This movie has not release date for Utah theaters, so sadly I won't get a chance to see it for awhile. I look forward to hearing reviews and what others have to say. They have quite the cast and I'd like to think this movie was handled in an honest/appropriate way. Check it out.

1st graders...the boyfriend I never had...

I am student teaching in Utah in a 1st grade classroom and I adore them, which has caused me to think...they are like the boyfriend I never had. For example:

1. When I'm not with them I'm thinking about them

2. I'm telling "cute" stories about them to my friends and family

3. They hug me

And they've said the following to me...

4. "You have shiny teeth"

5. "You have soft skin"

6. "I love you"

7. "You're the best"

8. "You're pretty"

9. "I like your hair"

10. "Oh....your outfit is soooo cute today"

Too bad we're breaking up in November. Rebound anyone??

This is what babysitting looks like...

Here I am babysitting at my sisters house...all three kids are at sport practices and Kristine and I are left with a glorious full course meal. I think I died and went to heaven. My sister treats us so good. To top it off the kids are so irresistably cute I can hardle contain my kisses and hugs. They are so smart and I love hearing what they are learning in school.

Sexy People

My sister sent me a link to this blog http://renz-o.blogspot.com/2008/08/cousins.html where you will find endless portraits of awesome people. "A celebration of the perfect portrait" is their tagline and I couldn't agree more. I think I near cryed when I saw this picture below of cousins posing for a portrait.
