I am student teaching in Utah in a 1st grade classroom and I adore them, which has caused me to think...they are like the boyfriend I never had. For example:
1. When I'm not with them I'm thinking about them
2. I'm telling "cute" stories about them to my friends and family
3. They hug me
And they've said the following to me...
4. "You have shiny teeth"
5. "You have soft skin"
6. "I love you"
7. "You're the best"
8. "You're pretty"
9. "I like your hair"
10. "Oh....your outfit is soooo cute today"
Too bad we're breaking up in November. Rebound anyone??

Don't you love the innocence and charm of a first grader? So cute!
so sweet!! i love it. i bet you are the best teacher ever.
and your skin really is soft.
this whole experience sounds like one big Van Halen video
I love this post and this pic of you. I can just imagine all the little first graders loving you.
JANE!!!!
What have you been up to even??? I did not even know you were in Utah. In fact...I do not know anything about the Metcalf side of my family. I am so out of the loop. I wish that I was not, but I get these crazy ideas and do crazy things. You know...the person who wants to change the world one person at a time...

love it. you need to write down everything they say.
this is great stuff jane! Tanner would love it if he had you as his teacher (although he's too cool to admit it).
That's so awesome. Great analogy!
Jane, you just quoted everything I've said to you. What does that mean?
That's the best. Those sweet kids.
